On this subject, this evening I was very pleasantly surprised to observe how quickly search engines rank new Automad sites. I assisted a relative to purchase a new domain 2-3 weeks ago, and showed them how to create content in Automad. Already, with the relative having only really completed the site a couple of days ago, it appears on page 1 for her primary search term "tweed crafts". Check the domain and you'll see it's so new it doesn't even register on a "whois" search yet, and yet it's already halfway up page 1.
My impression is that Google probably likes Automad because there's not a lot of unnecessary trash at the top of the page that slows down the time to meaningful load, and of course, because sites don't need to delve into the labyrinth of a MySQL database to extract and decrypt data, they load so much faster (at least in my experience).
I have started blogging with Automad and nowadays new content is ranking well in Google very quickly, far faster than when previously I used Wordpress or even HTML (Rapidweaver).
