Allow user to change Background colour

Is there a way to use the color variablecolor*: Color pickerto allow the content editor to select a background color for a snippet?..or any other way. ?
...Actually it would be better to limit user choice to a few select colors.

maakbow Hi, that is what sections are for. Add a section and change the background. Then add whatever block you want inside.

It's a cutom section that I dont think will work well in blocks.. It would give the user ability to enter any other block also within it and that would break the site.

Sections are very uncomfortable to work with. They would make more sense if there was an option to give them classes/ids, just like its possible with selected text.

Everyone Yeah, you mean additional to the styling. That would allow a consistent styling accross multiple sections. Cool!

Yes giving it a class would work for me, even manually for now

It's not realy use editable though, as any class could be created.
To be user proof you would have to select a class from classes created for that element by the template creator.

maakbow I don't think that its necessary to lock the user to predefined classes (although I don't mind making things more fool-proof). Options provided by block editor are IMO already somewhat abundant and make it a lot easier for average user to "hurt" him/herself. However now you can document your theme and put inside some kind of manual for the user.

Either way, I hope adding IDs and classes comes soon to sections, because that would allow me to greatly both simplify and reduce the number of templates.
