Hello,

Not exactly sure why, but previously I was able to add tags to my pages / posts. Now I can't, whenever I click on the tag box to write one nothing happens (as in no text field exists but it's still very much there).

Even posts with tags previously show nothing in that text box when editing the page, but on the frontend the post is still tagged. It's particularly odd since I've made no changes to the installation (no upgrades, adding plugins, themes, etc).

Any ideas where I start to figure out what's gone wrong and fix it ?

Thanks !

Edit : I'm on Version 1.6.0 in a shared hosting envrionment

kevinc Hi there, sorry to hear you have those issues. Let’s quickly go through a short check list to understand the problem better:

    1. Does the issue only occur on one single page or on all pages?
    2. Are there any errors showing up in the browser console?
    3. In case it only occurs on one page, do you remember the last modification to the page you did?

      Hi mad
This is an old post but I have to admit I share the exact same issue on my side, but just on one of my two Automad websites...
The "tags" field in the admin stays blank and does not show the tags or the small editable pills anymore.

Looking into my console, I see this error :
Uncaught TypeError: this.settings.tags is undefined (libs.min.js:304:2788)

      I'm on 1.10.9
It seems to impact all pages on this website. I don't remember when it stopped working (I think I didn't notice it right away when it happened).

Do you have any idea of where it could come from ?

Same here, I was putting content in a new post and the tags field is disabled. I'll try deleting cache and cookies, see if it works.

No luck, and to answer @mad as well, I was putting up new posts in a row, on after the other, I must've paused like 10 minutes with the post opened in editing mode and went to write the tags and it was disabled. Usually, after a long idle time I'd get signed out but I'd have no issue after signing back in. I can't think of anything I did different.

        This is from the console
        Uncaught TypeError: this.settings.tags is undefined

        Update:

I have finished putting up all the posts and I was opening each post to check for errors. Some don't have tags, some other do. Yet "tags" field is still disabled.

        This is the website:

This post should have tags but they are not visible:
        This post has visible tags:

Although, the tags field is disabled for all posts and they don't show in editing mode for none of the posts.

ichimga Hey guys, I will have to take a deeper look. So far I was not able to reproduce the issue. Is there any other error in the console?

I'll have a look later today in the console.

I didn't look in the console, it started working again out of the blue. I'd think it could be something with the browser, but just doesn't make sense why.

No, I didn't. I did reset the browser, due to other reasons, just realising that might have helped. It's Brave Browser
