mad Thanks for your quick reply!
Is date not generated when the post is created in Dashboard?
andkav Hi, yes it is. But since it is possible to create pages with a text editor, I wanted to be sure first. And I couldn’t find anything wrong in your first two examples. Looks all good. Do you have caching disabled? And does sorting work in the standard themes?
Caching is enabled. As far as I can remember, yes it worked. I can try to setup a clean instance to compare
I turned Caching off, no difference
I looked at a the blog .txt file on server, it does not contain a specific date variable. Is it supposed to? Or is date derived from the folder creation date?
So I looked in Dashboard. Found the Date field. Do I need to manually set date when creating a post in Dashboard?
andkav Since the last version, the date is created when adding a page. In older versions it was required to add a date manually. Which version are you running?
1.2.5 - says it up to date
But I built the site last year
I works now, I manually added date - now I now how manage it. Thank you so much!
andkav Hey cool!
Actually the current version is 1.5.4 already. The project moved to GitHub last year and there was a grace period of about a year to update and get the updater connected correctly to the new location. It might be too late already, but you can also update manually once in order to get updates in the future using the dashboard again.
It’s basically downloading the zip file and replacing every directory except pages and shared.
I have modified the Alpha/Bravo themes to suit my needs. Do you think my current custom theme will work on the latest version?
andkav Yes, they will work, but they won’t support new features like the block editor. Just make sure you rename the standard directory before updating to keep your changes when running updates.
Nice. Thanks again
andkav You’re welcome!
