I recently discovered Automad, it's beautiful already with the included themes.
One thing I noticed is that, no matter how big I'm uploading the pictures (more than 2000px width), they always look blurry on both my macbook retina screen and the external 4K monitor. Is there a way to change this behaviour and load full size photos?
I've yet to poke around the code, I'd like to develop a new theme down the line, but the included ones are already a great starting point.
herm Hi, yes you can change the maximum resolution for the images in the templates. There are several snippets for sliders, slideshows, galleries and pagelists. Just change the width option of the foreach loops within those snippets or even replace it with a variable. And don’t forget to first make a copy of the theme to keep your changes on updates.
Hope that helps.
Very helpful thanks. I duplicated the folder creating a new "Charlie" theme, doubled all the width: in the foreach cycles, and assigned the new theme to the site and projects, emptied the cache. Now in the previews and teasers the images look fine.
Maybe I should just start from scratch with a skeleton theme. Thanks!
herm Hi, there are multiple snippets in standard/snippets which are handling sliders and slideshows. You have to update all of them to get a higher resolution. And also check the width option of the with statements. Make sure that your new theme is located outside the standard directory.
