Changes not visible as admin?

I am new to the Automad CMS, and have already done some searching, but have not found anything to answer my question.

My situation:
If I set the individual pages in the dashboard as private and take them out of the display in the navigation. I do not see the changes as a logged in admin. Only when I log out can I see the changes.
Is that how it should be?
I would be grateful for any advice and look forward to getting to know you.

Under Dashboard / Pages / Template settings / Checkbox Hide in Menue
or do i miss a shorter way?

Private pages are pages accessible for logged-in users only. If you just want to not show a page in navigation, then check the Hide Page in Navigation checkbox in Page Settings > Visibility .
