Image optimization behavior

When working with images it's possible to specify the output cropping and dimensions, so then the CMS takes care of optimizing the output images, which is great. But what if I have images that are already well optimized? Will the quality get further downgraded on the front-end when using img tool or foreach loop?

Everyone Hi, yes. Regardless of the original size, a new image is always created. However, the quality of the resulting image is not affected when using lossless compression formats such as png. The compression level for jpgs can be controlled using the AM_IMG_JPG_QUALITY option in the config.
