Hello Mad, could you please check if something changed this week on packagist?
Until now my localhost XAMPP installed on my laptop was working with with automad and I was able to install Packages.
Now I get keep getting this error 🙁
abhi Hi there! Apparently the Packagist API has changed. I have released a fix for that just now. You can update your site and everything should work again as expected.
Outstanding Marc!! So fast response and really appreciate that you checked & assisted.
Hello Marc / @mad
I also wanted to inform you that on PHP8.0.17 & PHP8.1.4 on XAMPP I see many issues, eg.:
However, when I use PHP7.4.28 it works fine.
Hope this information is useful for you to check why this is happening.
abhi Thanks for reaching out about this. I released a fix just now. Let me know if there is anything else.
Thanks again Marc / @"mad"
There is a new issue, now and might need a fix sooner, else the fresh downloads of automad may not work either.
This last update changed "automad" folder to a file and the application just crashes.
Please see below video where I am trying to explain this. (sorry for missing audio, but you'll see it clearly)
Watch video showing upgrade issue
abhi Hi, thanks. I have released a couple of fixes addressing PHP 8.1 breaking changes. I was not able to reproduce the issue on the video, but I guess it was crashing for the same reasons. Since PHP 8.1 unfortunately breaks a lot of things, it could be that more side effects will show up.
☝ Note that there is also now an open issue on GitHub collecting problems caused by the migration to PHP 8.1.
Unfortunately, it still doesn't fix the issue for me 🙁
When I use the new update 1.10.8 then two of the folders convert to file:
May be it is only me. I will now try downloading fresh copy off github and try to reinstall and use.
Thanks for your help.
I am testing on PHP 8.0.13
So downloading fresh copy worked fine!
Instead of spending much time troubleshooting I am moving the pages and content to new version and will edit, because you have made such a simplified CMS!
Take care @mad
abhi Hi thanks fir testing this. Sorry for the struggle. However, I hope the issue with the updates is finally fixe with latest release. Please report here in case a future update also fails.
mad Everything works smooth on 7.4.
I’ll keep testing in the sandboxes for 8.0 and 8.1 and will share feedback (if that helps).
Thanks for your committed support @mad !!
abhi Hey thanks a lot! Further testing would indeed help a lot! Feedback is very much appreciated!
mad on PHP 8.0.17 everything works fine for Automad 1.10.9,
however General Data and Files isn't opening... Any workaround suggestions?
abhi Thanks for reporting. I can fortunately narrow down the issue to Windows in combination with 8.1. At least it works fine on Linux and macOS.
