hi @ all,
when im upload images to the alpa post template, the portrait photos get in the wrong aspect ratio (seems 1:2 - originals are 2:3 or 5:7) - landscape photos are fine
found out, that the cached portrait images are changed to this ratio ... where is the code or plug-in, that change the size of used images?!
Hi, it could be that the image you uploaded is too small to be resized correctly.
okay, i try to upload larger images - but, 960x1440 is to small??
Which slideshow do you use? The one with multiple images next to each other. Then the size is fine. The images are always cropped to fit a responsive slider grid. You can change the height of the slider to get another aspect ratio.
Yes, I used the the Alpha Post as base. It's the slideshow you described. When I'm change the height of the slideshow, the responsive design is nonfunctional and the landscape photos are cropped wrong (same aspect rate issue).
Is it generally impossible to display mixed landscape and portrait photos in their original aspect ratios (uncropped but resized)?
The images need to be cropped to fit a certain grid to make the responsive design working. They can't have random dimensions. On small devices images can be between 1/6 and 6/6 of the width of the slider and on larger devices between 1/10 and 6/10.
But of course that all is related to the design of the theme. You can play around with the theme and change it to fit your requirements.
Okay, i understand this...
But Im a photographer and its unacceptable that my images cropped in a way, that i can't control. Resizing isn't a problem but change the aspect from 3:2 (original 960x1440px) to 2:1 (600x288px) with cropping isnt acceptable.
My coding skills are not mighty enought to change the way like slideshow works...
But your work ist really awesome! Thanks for this little masterpiece!
