Automad 1.6.0 is out!

I'm very happy to announce the release of Automad 1.6.0! 🍾🥂
The dashboard got quite a redesign and some cool new blocks have been added to the block editor!
But just check out yourself here ...

Please i wish to understand. After building a themes where are they going to be reused ? I mean are the themes only to be used in Automad or only in Flat file CMS ?
Also what does one need as basics skills to get started ?
I admit being in Africa and am looking for something I can train people to help others Develop online presence and earn income along the lines.

mcsteann Hi there! Welcome here! 👋
The themes CSS and JS will work in any system — the actual PHP template only works in Automad. I think basic development skills combined with a minimal understanding of CSS should be a good start. The template language that is used in a theme is quite simple and you can find a lot in the docs about how to use it.

But am whiling to follow any guidelines you may give me.

mcsteann Hi, I think all the existing guidelines for development for this system here require a minimal understanding of all the required workflows. However using the system should still be possible as a beginner. That would be a start.

mcsteann You can find a lot of information in the official docs. Note that those docs expect a minimum understanding of the topic though.

mad as Wordpress-specialist, i while ago, develop two websites with Automad, and is fun! In the meanwhile sometimes switch to WP (sorry 🙄, clients asking sometimes webshops, membership-websites and so on...), but i see a lot of progress the latest versions of your cms.
I'm not an pro-developer, have only basic-knowledge about php, but i really love Automad, and can building my own theme 😃 , this is more ease than a WP-theme, so thumbs up 👍 , and have just enough knowledge to help myself finding some issues 😊
Automad is really impressive! I know there is a lot of work making it more flexible for more cases (userroles, shop-module(?), comments, maintenance mode,...) but when i see what you realized in a year, awesome work!!!!!

What i try to say: MAD, YOU BUILD AN AWESOME AND BEST CMS EVER!!!!!!
