Thank you very much for your reply. I tried this with the menu bar but sometimes when I start editing the page the bar is gone and only comes back, when I leave the editor. Even if it is there, can I switch the pages without loosing the current changes? I think I have to save first, then switch, upload the file and come back. From a developer point of view I totally understand the two separate "worlds". I would like to provide Automad for novice users to edit some pages and add images and so on. This workflow is too complicated for them and they won't understand it. Everybody is used to "add image and upload it" right away. For me there are now 3 options what I can do:
a) implement the feature somehow myself (will take longer as I have to understand the system first and know how I can merge the two "worlds" for this feature somehow, will most likely produce some hack code :-)
b) dump Automad and try some other solution that allows uploading of images in a more traditional way
c) ask you to implement this and hope you found it useful enough to make the (maybe) larger effort 😀
I don't know if others have stated a similar request already (I haven't found in the forum here yet). Maybe it is only me and nobody else needs this. Being able to add an image (and similar: a file to download with a button) right in the in-page-editor would make a real change to the versatile use of Automad as a whole. I would see many more projects where I could make good use of it then. I know it is one of the major advantages of Automad to be small and easy compared to Wordpress and similar CMS and each feature makes it more complex. I hope you can consider this one, as it does not add new functionality but offer the existing at another place in the workflow.
Kind regards,
Michael
