Changing .less variables / image gallery modal

Hi @mad ,
I'm currently testing the new theme adam, so far I like it, very aesthetic and minimalistic and the management of the blocks and .less settings would be efficient and extremely variable when developing templates, so great work again...

As a non-programmer I just tried to make changes using the .less variables, that didn't work because I don't know the exact compilation procedure ( I considered the documentation, but haven't had any success so far ).
So what exactly is to be done and in what chronological order?

Furthermore I test the automad/lightbox gallery / image functions.
I have read the documentation in advance and hopefully followed the sequence of steps correctly...
but with the white modal opening only the arrows and caption texts appear, but not the images, ....
maybe an error in the link / path allocation on my part ... and where are these to define?

micro Hi there! In order to build the theme CSS it is required to have Node and Gulp installed on your computer. Then just do the following to install all dependecies within the root directory of the Adam package:

npm install

This only has to be done once. After everything is installed just do

gulp watch

to automatically rebuild all dist files on every change.

Regarding your second issue i would need more info on what’s exactly happening.

thank you for the prompt feedback, regarding the sequences I will have a closer look at this...

After the installation of the adam theme I made some tests on how to handle blocks.
I created galleries and sliders in the dashboard. The images were in the shared folder, not uploaded to the dashboard.
You can see the images on the page in the slider, the thumbs of the gallery or single images are also visible, inline images function and open in the same browser window.
But clicking on the gallery images opens the modal with white background, nav arrows and caption text,
I can click on arrows but the images are not visible ...

After this problem occured, I manually saved the lighbox folder into the packages/automad folder according to the documentation for the lighbox package and wrote the code into the head of the header.php for templates...
but as I said, images of the gallery are not shown in the modal window

what could be my mistake...maybe the problem with the gallery has nothing to do with the lightbox package ?

micro Hi, unfortunately I can’t reproduce the issue here. Looks all fine. Note that the Lightbox package has nothing to do with the gallery block. And by the way, it is not possible to just copy the folder somewhere. Packages should be installed generally by using Composer as described in the docs.
