Hello everybody,
did somebody use a cookie alert? I normaly don´t care, but since i embed a bunch of vimeo videos my site now uses cookies. If you have a solution for that, it would be great to share your wisdom.

Hello, interesting question. As far as I understand it is not needed as long the cookies are used to maintain the main functionality of a site. I don’t know if anybody actually can tell what that means exactly and whether it applies to Vimeo too. I also don’t really know how it works in general with iframes. 🤔

After some research, i found a solution with services like https://www.osano.com/.
But i won‘t use it, the Code always connects to the company‘s server. So i don’t care anymore about Cookies. 🤷‍♂️

Hi, I was wondering whether I need a cookie note as well, even though I don't have any third-party providers.
The GDPR basically states that "Receive users’ consent before you use any cookies except strictly necessary cookies." and "Allow users to access your service even if they refuse to allow the use of certain cookies"

I haven't gone through the code, but I wonder if automad uses cookies that aren't compliant to these rules (by this I mean that I don't know how essential those cookies are and that whether those are "only" makes the experience better, because if not, then technically it could be said that those cookies aren't "strictly necessary").

grzzltn Hi there! Only absolutely essential cookies are used by the CMS. As long as you don’t add other libraries which create additional cookies you won’t have to add such a cookie notification. The default cookies should be compliant to the mentioned rules and don’t track any visitor data.
